Solar array design, installation and repair, including systems another contractor left unfinished.
Solar Systems Design and Repair
Sad about how the solar contractor left you high and dry? Or maybe you want a new system designed with YOU in mind? I know the ins and outs of these complex systems and can repair them or figure out what you need to get on track.
Solar design, installation and repair
Southern Arizona gets more sun than almost anywhere in the country, which makes solar a great fit here. It also means a lot of systems were installed in a hurry. Aaron regularly picks up systems that another contractor left unfinished, installed incorrectly, or stopped supporting.

Designed around you
Every home uses power differently. Aaron looks at your bills, your roof and how you live before recommending anything, so the system fits instead of being oversized to make a sale. He also handles the electrical side of the utility interconnection with Tucson Electric Power or TRICO.
Is your system underperforming?
Low production, a tripped breaker, an inverter showing an error code, or a monitoring app that went quiet are all worth a call. Many problems are simple connection or inverter issues that can be fixed without replacing panels.

Light up a roomCan you repair a solar system another contractor installed?
Yes. If a solar contractor left you high and dry, we know the ins and outs of these complex systems and can repair yours or figure out what you need to get it back on track. We also design new systems around how you actually use power.
What does whole-home surge protection do, and is it worth it?
A whole-home surge protector installs at the panel and diverts voltage spikes from lightning, utility switching, and large appliances cycling on and off. It is generally worth it if you have expensive electronics and appliances. It reduces risk but cannot guarantee protection from a direct lightning strike, and it works best paired with plug-in surge protectors for sensitive devices.
Can I install a generator or transfer switch?
Yes, and a properly installed transfer switch or interlock is essential. It keeps generator power from feeding back into the utility lines, which can seriously injure or kill line workers. Never plug a generator into a wall outlet using a dual-male cord. Installations typically need a permit, and portable generators must run outdoors, well away from windows, because of carbon monoxide.
Do I need to upgrade my panel (100A vs 200A)?
Common signs include frequent breaker trips, no open slots for new breakers, a fuse box, or an older panel brand with known problems. Upgrades are also common when adding an EV charger, heat pump, addition, or hot tub. An electrician does a load calculation to decide if your current service can handle what you have and what you plan to add.
Do I need a permit for this work?
Permits are usually required for new circuits, panel changes, service upgrades, EV chargers, generators, and additions. Simple like-for-like swaps of an outlet, switch, or light fixture often do not need one, but rules vary by city and county. Licensed electricians normally handle permits. Unpermitted work can cause problems with insurance claims and when selling a home.
