Mini-split installation and repair

Ductless mini-splits are a great way to cool a garage, a casita, an addition or any room your central AC cannot keep up with during a Tucson summer. They are efficient, quiet and do not need ductwork. Oftentimes they are a worthwhile approach when faced with a whole house A/C replacement.

Systems we work with

  • Single-zone units for one room or space
  • Multi-zone systems that run several indoor heads from one outdoor unit
  • Ceiling cassettes for a cleaner look in larger rooms

Install and repair

A mini-split needs a properly sized dedicated circuit and a disconnect near the outdoor unit. We handle all aspects of the install including all electrical necessities, supplying and installing the unit itself with proper line-set vacuum tests, and we troubleshoot units that will not power on, trip breakers or shut off unexpectedly.

Not sure if a mini-split is the right fix for a hot room? Call or text and describe the space. Aaron will tell you honestly whether it makes sense.

Mini-split questions

Ask Aaron: 520-222-7993
Do you install and repair mini-splits?

Yes. From single-head units to ceiling cassettes to multi-zone systems, we install and repair mini-splits across Tucson.

Why do my lights flicker or dim when the AC or a big appliance kicks on?

Motors draw a large surge of current when they start, which can briefly dim lights, especially on a shared circuit. A quick, slight dim is often normal. Frequent or heavy flickering can point to loose connections, an overloaded circuit, an undersized service, or a utility-side issue, so it is worth having an electrician check it.

Do I need to upgrade my panel (100A vs 200A)?

Common signs include frequent breaker trips, no open slots for new breakers, a fuse box, or an older panel brand with known problems. Upgrades are also common when adding an EV charger, heat pump, addition, or hot tub. An electrician does a load calculation to decide if your current service can handle what you have and what you plan to add.

How do I know if I’m overloading a circuit?

Warning signs include repeated tripping, dimming lights, warm plugs or cords, buzzing, and heavy reliance on extension cords or power strips. As a rule, continuous loads should stay under about 80% of the breaker rating. For example, a 15-amp circuit is best kept to roughly 12 amps (about 1,400 watts) of steady use.
